Modern Religious Experience: Personal Commemoration- Reflection #7

Modern Religious Experience: Personal Commemoration- Reflection #7: "Think of an event in your life- past, present or future. You are going to create a commemorative ritual for this event. First, describe the ..."
My week of fasting when i was in summer going up to 6th grade before i had came to korea. I had to loose 15 pounds within that week to play and get into the jr. peewee football team that weekend. I had to starve myself during the whole week and push myself both physically and mentally. Even when it came to drinking water i would only hold the water in my mouth and spit it out and drink only what was left in my mouth. Every morning until afternoon i would go to football practice and the coach would have me running laps and doing more drills than anyone else with my gear on and a hoody underneath it. It really made me have to push myself both physically and mentally to get what i wanted. At the end of the week i had just barely made it and was able to play. This commemoration will last a period of a week. During this commemoration you will say this to yourself every morning "This is something i chose to do and therefore will push myself and not give up." Some physical actions that can be done to remember or celebrate this event is to fast the whole week, jog every morning, and to see what you are capable of at the end of the week.

Zues had first found this city asked who would like to claiom this city and name it their own, Posiden stood up and told Zues to let him have this city because of its natural ports and harbour. Athena stepped up and said this would be a place of wisdom, art, and learning. Zues could not choose between the two so brought it apoun the counsil to help him make a decision. They had came up with a competition to bring forth a gift to represnt this ctiy and whichever the counsil had chosen to be the best gift would name this city after them. posiden summoned a battle horse out of the ground saying this would drive all their enemeies away and what could be a better gift. Athena touched the ground and out grew a olive tree saying this tree symoblizes peace and wisdom. The counsil thought Athenas gift was by far better and so Athena had named the city after her. The moral of this story is that it is always better to be wiser and keep peace then to think of war and battle. This story answers the how the cities were named.
